How do I wash my hair extensions?

For professional hair extensions:

Wait 2 days to wash hair after installation of Clear Tube, Keratip, Skinweft, or Smart Tabs. Only use products sold or recommended by The Hair Shop.

Haircare products should be lightweight and gentle. Use the “less is more” rule of thumb. Avoid haircare products labeled as dandruff treating or growth enhancing.

Avoid color altering haircare products such as purple shampoos (use The Hair Shop’s Purple Conditioner if needed).

Avoid extension bonds and wefts when using haircare products that contain alcohol (such as dry shampoos and hairspray). Only focus on front hairline, part, and crown when washing.

1. Brush hair before washing

2. Wash hair 1-2 times per week

3. Divide hair in half for a deeper clean on bottom layers

4. Apply The Hair Shop’s Shampoo to wet hair from roots to ends, comb fingers through and rinse

5. Appy The Hair Shop’s Conditioner to wet hair avoiding extension bonds and wefts, comb fingers through, let saturate and rinse

6. Apply The Hair Shop’s Deep Conditioning Mask to wet hair for 10-15 minutes every other week

For clip-in extensions:

Brush hair from mid shaft to ends working your way up. Using The Hair Shop’s Style Mate, place extensions on hook and begin to lather and rinse using The Hair Shop’s Shampoo and Conditioner. Lay the extensions out on a towel to air dry.
